In its latest edition of awareness camps CSI Nepal completed its session at Lumbini ICT College at Gaindakot, Nawalparasi dated 25th June 2016. Keeping up with their mission to spread awareness across Nepal about cybersecurity CSI Nepal has been organizing this session at various schools, colleges.

Mr. Kumar Pudasaini, Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari and Bikram Khadka were the speakers.

Mr. Kumar Pudasaini started off the program with a short explanation about the overall development cycle of information technology and malware infection. He also gave information about the level of malware infection in the world citing the increasing trend of such infection more prevalent in developed countries. He highlighted the need for Nepal to be prepared for such a scenario as in the future our country will also eventually adopt the newer technologies in IT.

Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari carried on further presentation. He introduced the audience with new concepts of adware, fake antiviruses, and spoof mail. Similarly, he talked about the search trend about hacking which Nepal tops, referring to the attraction in mostly youths to indulge in cyber crimes.

Most cybercrimes in Nepal are committed in social media which are incurred due to lack of awareness, so  programs like these are necessary.

Dr. RamhariSubedi. CEO of CSI Nepal formulated the concept of this awareness program with significant support from Nepal Cyber Security Experts showing a drive to help spread awareness on this issue.

The college management and the students extended their gratitude for organizing the program in their college. Citing the need for such awareness programs The Senior Lecturer of Lumbini ICT College Mr. Ramesh Khanal thanked the CSI Nepal for proving valuable information about cybersecurity.
