A Conversation with Chief Commissioner of the National Information Commission Mr. Krishna Hari Baskota.

Open Nepal in association with The Platform Inc. is proud to host a conversation on Open Data with the Chief Commissioner of National Information Commission Krishnahari Baskota.

Over the past few years, the Open Data movement has gained traction amongst civil society and government, and it is our pleasure to present an opportunity to converse with the lead government organization liaisoning Open Government Data in Nepal.

Accessible, useable, timely and complete data is critical for supporting sustainable development and social progress. In many cases, attempts to deliver sustainable economic, social and environmental interventions are hindered by the failure to get the right information, in the correct format, to the right people, at the right time.

To discuss these issues in the context of Nepal, we are giving civil society and citizens an opportunity to address their concerns or questions with the highest ranking government official currently coordinating the Nepali Government’s Open Government Data policy.

The goal of the event is to raise the concerns and recommendations of civil society on issues related to Open Government Data while providing a forum to share their experiences in accessing and using government data in Nepal.

There is limited seating, so RSVP to the event by emailing Pavitra Rana at pavitra.rana@opennepal.net.
