Samsung announced and released Samsung Galaxy Note 5 smartphone on August 2015 that comes up with an Android OS v5.1 Lollipop upgradable to v6.0.1 Marshmallow. This phone supports GSM /HPSA/ LTE network configurations.
This phone has a dimension of 153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6 mm (6.03 x 3.00 x 0.30 in) having thickness 7.6mm and weighs about 171 grams. It uses Nano-SIM S Pen stylus technology having the feature of Samsung Pay (Visa, MasterCard certified).  The screen size is 5.7 inches, and the screen-to-body ratio is 75.9%.
The display is of 16M colors and has Super AMOLED capacities touchscreen. The screen resolution is 1440 x 2560 pixels which are precisely 581 PPI pixel density. The GPU used is Mali-T760MP8. It supports multi-touch and has got Exynos 7420 Octa chipset, and CPU comprises of Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2.1.0 GHz Cortex-A57 processors.  The internal memory available is 32/64/128 GB, and it contains 4 GB RAM.
The primary camera comprises of a16 MP, f/1.9, 28 mm, OIS, autofocus, LED flash camera while secondary comprises of 5 MP, f/1.9, 22 mm, 1440 p@30 fps, dual video call, and Auto HDR camera. The video feature includes 2160@30 fps, 1080 p@30 fps, 720 p @120 fps and dual video recording. The primary camera features include 1/2.6″ sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR and panorama mode.
The microphone jack is 3.55 mm and has got stereo loudspeakers. The WLAN supported are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, and hotpots. The Bluetooth version is 4.2, A2DP, EDR, LE. It also comes with NFC connection but does not contain an FM radio. The USB available is v2.0 micro USB with USB Host. It also comes with Fingerprint, accelerator, gyro, compass, barometer, heart rate, SpO2, and proximity sensors.
The messaging can be performed via MMS, SMS threaded view, IM, Email and Push mail. The GPS technology is A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS. The browser is HTML 5. The phone comes with Wireless charging (Qi/ PMA) that is market independent. The phone also comes with S-Voice natural language commands and dictation and ANT+ support.
The battery used is Non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAH battery that gives up to 22 h (3G)standby talk time and music play up to 64 h battery life while the endurance rating is 85h. The colors available are Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Silver Titan, and White Pearl. The available models are N920T (T-Mobile); N920A (AT&T); N920I (Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Canada); N920G (India).
The main disadvantages are that there is no micro SD card slot; no 128 GB built-in memory option, also the battery is not user-replaceable. Similarly, there is no IR port, enhanced resistance to liquids or dust, stereo speakers. The body of the smartphone is quite slippery without a case.
