Signing Ceremony of the MoU between Rastriya Banijya Bank and NCC

Today, Nepal Certifying Company and Rastriya Banijya Bank Signed MOU for Implementing a Digital Signature and Certificate.  Rastriya Banijya Bank Usage Digital Signature from Nepal Certifying Company Pvt. Ltd.  Nepal Certifying Company (NCC) penned a deal to deliver Digital Signature and Certificate (DSC) to Rastriya  Banijya Bank making it the first largest bank in Nepal to use the Digital Signature and Certificate (DSC). On behalf of the Bank, the agreement was signed by Kiran Kumar Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer and on NCC’s behalf, Biplav Man Singh, Chairman of NCC signed the agreement. Rastriya Banijya Bank is scheduled to implement DSC in phases for authentication of communication/documents originating from its client’s, the scope of which will depend on the regulatory provisions.

This agreement will draw Rastriya Banijya Bank closer to its Digitization agenda as it helps eliminate manual interventions in improving client experience. Availability & usage of DSC is also expected to reduce the risk of repudiation as it allows the Bank to accept transnational & other related documents from clients through electronic medium. Debesh Prasad Lohani, Department Chief of IT at Rastriya Banijya Bank expressed his happiness for having pioneered in acquiring DSC amongst banks in Nepal. He mentioned that it had opened a gateway for the Bank in transacting with clients efficiently through a secure mode. He further added `Digitization remains a key priority for the Bank in Nepal’. Biplav man Singh, Chairman of NCC said: “We are delighted to provide Digital Signature and Certificate (DSC) to Rastriya Banijay Bank. Our aim is to make Digital Signature and Certificate (DSC) an efficient and effective medium for authentication and security of online transactions.” The Director of NCC Mr. Deepak Bhandari and Chief Operating Officer Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari is also present there.  Nepal Certifying Company has been managing the Digital Signature and Certificate (DSC) issued by Radiant Info Tech Nepal Pvt. Ltd., the Issuing Certifying Authority (CA) in Nepal. It has been working to implement Digital Signature and Certificate (DSC) all over the country and replacing papered activities. A Digital Signature and Certificate (DSC) are produced by using the PKI method. DSC is a data with digital signature from one trusted Certification Authority (CA).
