ThreatNix- a Kathmandu based information security company is all geared up to present THREAT CON 2018- the first of its kind, a cybersecurity conference on 22nd and 23rd November, 2018. Different security experts and established security researchers from all around the world including Silicon Valley will show their presence in the event to provide insight and opportunity to groom and learn, said the organizers.
There will be an “Arsenal” in a conference where delegates will showcase their custom-built opened source hacking tools, alive “Bug Bounty Competition” in which participants will figure out the vulnerabilities in various live targets and will get paid for digging out those vulnerabilities. Similarly a “CTF Competition” is also being hosted where participants will have to crack a series of computer security related challenges to bag some cold hard cash prizes and fame in the security community. Last but not the least A “Chillout Area” where one can play different vintage computer games while grabbing a beer and making conversation with other security experts. The conference will also feature several workshops such as “Bug Bounty Workshop” where a professional bug bounty hunter will teach you how to find vulnerabilities in different companies offering Vulnerability Disclosure Programs such as Google and Microsoft. “A Secure Coding” workshop where one of the most reputed security experts will teach developers how to securely code their application and avoid disastrous bugs in their code base.
Likewise, the event has also been scheduled for several workshops such as “Bug Bounty Workshop” where an expert bug bounty hunter will give a lesson on finding vulnerabilities in different companies offering Vulnerability Disclosure Program that includes Google and Microsoft. With Bug Bounty Workshop there will also be another workshop known as “A Secure Coding” workshop where one the most reputed security expert will train the developers on how to securely code their application and avoid disastrous bugs in their code base.
Anyone from any professional or academic background can participate in the conference. The event motives to serve as a platform to gather the cybersecurity community and bridge the gap and thus help the community to progress.
