The 6th annual general meeting of Computer Association of Nepal (CAN), Surkhet concluded on Birendranagar.  Dev Kumar Subedi, Chief of Birendranagar Municipality showed up his presence in the event as a chief guest.

Similarly, Bhupendra Singh, central member of CAN Federation, Navraj Khatiwada  head of Nepal Telcom Surkhet, Dhan Bahadur Raut,  vice  president of Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Surkhet (FNCCI), Kulman Pulami, delegate of WorldLink Communication, Tika Prasad Sharma, member of ICT Club Surkhet and others participated in the event.

Dhan Bahadur Raut, vice president of Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Surkhet, appreciated CAN for their contribution regarding the development of ICT in Surkhet.  Similarly, he also added FNCCI Surkhet will always support CAN in any developmental work.

Navraj Khatiwada head of Nepal Telecom Surkhet said the work of digitalization should begin from Birendranagar Municipality since it the most critical place for whole Karnali state. Similarly, Khatiwada expects good cooperation from the CAN.

President of CAN Federation Pradesh No. 6 Purna Dev Adhikari pledges to put a great effort in the development of ICT in private and government organization of Surkhet. He also mentioned, CAN will play a very active role in the installation of the digital signature, digital Karnali and other digital stuff essential for the smart city. CAN wants to work in collaboration with local and provincial government.

 Bhupendra Oli, a central member of CAN Federation said, CAN have got an important role for the development of Surkhet because it is the capital city of Karnali state and he wants the government to show proper concern for the development of ICT in Surkhet.

From a long time back, we are unable to develop the sector of ICT in our country, but very soon we are going to get a positive result, added Oli.

Dev Kumar Subedi, Chief of Birendranagar Municipality said, “currently there is no proper environment to establish IT park in Surkhet, but in association with CAN Federation we are going to make an E- Zone to Ward number 6”.

To make Surkhet technology friendly zone government is planning for free Wi-Fi zone, installation of CCTV camera, Waste management and among others informed Subedi.
