Garima Bikas Bank and Mahalaxmi BikasBank have introduced 3D Secure ACS (Access Control Server) to enhance the security of their card-based online transactions.
3D Secure ACS Nepal
This initiative, in collaboration with Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL), allows cardholders to conduct e-commerce payments more securely through NCHL’s EFT Services network.
Stronger Security for Digital Transactions
Customers of these banks can now enjoy safer online payments with an extra verification layer. The 3D Secure ACS system helps prevent unauthorized transactions by requiring users to authenticate their payments. This system is widely recognized for its ability to minimize fraud risks in e-commerce.
To activate this feature, cardholders must enable 3D Secure ACS on their cards once. After activation, every online transaction will undergo an additional security check, ensuring a safer digital experience.
Encouraging Digital Banking Growth
With e-commerce expanding in Nepal, secure digital transactions are becoming a priority. Garima and Mahalaxmi Bikas Banks aim to promote safer online payments through this service. This step is expected to encourage more users to shift toward digital banking and secure e-commerce transactions.
NCHL’s Role in Digital Payment Security
NCHL plays a crucial role in Nepal’s digital payment ecosystem. It offers various services under its EFT framework, including secure authentication, card issuance, transaction processing, e-commerce payment gateway services, and card personalization solutions. Additionally, NCHL is testing the integration of NEPALPAY card transactions, aiming to expand digital payment options for users.
Garima and Mahalaxmi’s Digital Expansion
Garima Development Bank has issued over 175,000 cards and operates 50 ATMs across Nepal. Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank serves its customers with 135,000+ cards and 49 ATMs. Both banks are committed to expanding digital banking services and ensuring secure financial transactions for their customers.
By integrating 3D Secure ACS, these banks are enhancing cybersecurity in Nepal’s financial sector and supporting the country’s transition toward a safer digital economy.
