A total of 56 companies and mutual funds listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) have declared dividends for the fiscal year 2023/24. These dividends are based on the accumulated profits of the companies until that period. According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, 36 companies and 20 mutual funds have made these announcements.

Diverse Sectors Declare Dividends

The dividend declarations cover a wide range of sectors. These include commercial banks, development banks, finance companies, hotel groups, investment groups, life insurance companies, manufacturing industries, microfinance, and mutual funds.

Specifically, 9 commercial banks, 3 development banks, 1 finance company, 2 hotels, 2 investment firms, 2 life insurance companies, 4 manufacturing industries, 13 microfinance institutions, and 20 mutual funds have made announcements.

Leading Commercial Banks Make Significant Announcements

Out of 20 commercial banks, 9 have announced dividends. Among them, Standard Chartered Bank has declared the highest dividend. Ekta Bank has announced 25.5% in total, including both cash and bonus shares.

Other commercial banks have made notable announcements. Everest Bank will distribute 15.53%, Nepal SBI Bank has declared 10.65%, and Nabil Bank will provide 10%. Most other banks have declared single-digit dividends.

Development Banks Follow with Solid Dividends

Kamana Seva Development Bank has declared 12% dividends. Maitri Development Bank will provide 10%, while Sain Resunga Development Bank has declared 8%. The development bank sector has 17 listed companies, and these announcements represent a significant portion of the group’s dividend distributions.

Finance Sector Announces Modest Dividends

The finance sector, with 15 listed companies, has seen minimal dividend declarations. Shri Investment and Banking announced a dividend of 1.96%, while other finance companies have yet to declare dividends.

Tourism Sector Shows Strong Performance

The tourism sector has also made strong dividend announcements. Solti Hotel will provide 36.84%, while Oriental Hotel has declared 5.26%. There are currently 6 companies listed in the hotel and tourism sector.

Investment Firms Announce Attractive Dividends

Investment companies have also made dividend declarations. NRN Infrastructure Development Limited announced 5.26%, CEDB Holdings will distribute 11%, and Hathway Investment declared 10.52%. These announcements are from a group that has 7 listed companies.

Life Insurance Companies Show High Dividends

In the life insurance sector, Sunjyoti Life has declared 20% bonus shares. Meanwhile, Sanima Reliance Life has announced an exceptional 1838% dividend. There are currently 12 companies in the life insurance group listed on NEPSE.

The Manufacturing Sector Makes Smaller Dividends

The manufacturing sector, which has 9 listed companies, has seen a modest number of dividend announcements. Bottlers Nepal will distribute 50%, Unilever Nepal declared 17.14%, and Nepal Lub Oil announced 25%. These companies have declared dividends within the industry.

Microfinance Sector Leads with Multiple Dividends

The microfinance sector, with 50 listed companies, has seen 13 companies announce dividends. Mithila, Chhimek, National, Swabalamban, Asha, and Guras Microfinance each declared 15%.

Other microfinance companies like Support Microfinance announced 14.5%, while Forward and Sanakisan both declared 14%. RSDSC has declared 10%, and First Microfinance announced 9.47%. Suryauday Bomi declared a 7% dividend.

Mutual Funds Declare Dividends

In the mutual fund sector, NMB-50 and Sanima Mutual Fund declared 15% dividends. Citizen Super 30, NMB Subhalabh Investment Fund-3, Prabhu Select Fund, and Sanima Growth Fund each announced 10%. Other mutual funds declared single-digit dividends.

No Dividends from Non-Life Insurance and Trading Sectors

So far, companies in the non-life insurance and trading sectors have not declared dividends.
