Policy preparations have been made for the operation of 5G services in Nepal. In order to assess the frequency, the Nepal Telecommunications Authority, the telecommunications regulator decided to make a recommendation.

The Board Member informed the NTA Board that it had decided to identify the frequency and recommended it to the Radio Frequency Committee. In order to allow the operation of 5G services in Nepal.

NTA has set up a 5G Technology Mobile Network Suggestion Forum, which has been introduced on the world market as part of the daily schedule for the current year. The Board agreed to make a decision on the basis of the recommendations made by the Forum. Which was set up to distribute suitable and affordable frequencies in the bands available in Nepal.

NTA is now submitting this recommendation to the Radio Frequency Determination Committee.

The Committee will decide whether the frequency can be calculated in accordance with the recommendation sent by the Board. The analysis will decide if the day seems fitting. The frequency fee will also be decided when making such a decision.

Following the decision of the committee, NTA will make it available through bidding to telecommunications service providers. Only then will the service providers be in a position to run the service.

The NTA Board has decided to propose low, medium, and high-frequency bands. 9, 18, 23, and 26 hundred MHz bands are recommended for use.

There are two major providers of mobile services in Nepal. Of these, the government-owned Nepal Telecom 4G is expanding its services. Nepal Telecom has already declared that it is willing to take part in the expansion of the 5G service together after the government has made policy arrangements.
