6th Tiger Cup Volleyball Starts Tomorrow: Ncell Continues Support For Youth and Sports Empowerment

Ncell has announced its continued partnership as the title sponsor for the 6th Tiger Cup National and International Invitational Club Championship Volleyball Tournament 2026 in Pokhara.

Starting January 23 at the Pokhara Stadium, the tournament features 11 top-tier men’s and women’s teams, including international participants from Thailand and the Maldives.
With a top prize of NPR 666,666 for the winners in both categories, this collaboration highlights Ncell’s commitment to nurturing Nepalese talent and promoting volleyball as a nationally cherished sport.
Tiger Cup has been held continuously for the past five years. Ncell was also the main sponsor of the event last year. Ncell has reached an agreement once again with the organizer, Tiger Group of Pokhara, Nepal, to collaborate as the title sponsor.
“This partnership with the Tiger Cup reflects Ncell’s deep connection with sports and youth empowerment, firmly rooted in the local communities where such talent is nurtured.
We are confident that this tournament will make a meaningful contribution to promoting volleyball, one of Nepal’s most enduring and nationally cherished sports, while empowering youth at the local level and helping them grow into future national talents,” said Ncell Chief Consumer Business Officer Upanga Dutta.
He added that sports play an important role in bringing society together and driving positive changes.
The tournament, which will provide a platform for national and international players to showcase their talent, will be held at the Volleyball Training Centre of Pokhara Stadium until January 31, 2026.
Expressing his views, Narayan Prasad Sharma, President of organizer Tiger Group of Pokhara, Nepal, said, “We are grateful to Ncell for continuing its involvement in sports and partnering with us again this year for the Tiger Cup. Such cooperation, support, and contributions have enabled us to become the country’s largest volleyball tournament.”
The 6th Tiger Cup Volleyball Tournament features a total of 11 teams. Five teams in the women’s category and six in the men’s category will contest for the title.
Teams vying for the women’s title include Nepal Police Club, Nepal APF Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Tip Top New Diamond Youth Sports Club, and Thailand Queens. Likewise, Gandaki Province Volleyball Association, Pokhara, Nepal Police Club, Nepal Army Club, Nepal APF Club, Parbat District Volleyball Association, and the Maldives will be competing for the men’s title.
Winning teams in both categories will receive equal prize amounts. The team securing first position will receive NPR 666,666, the team securing second position will receive NPR 366,666, and the team standing third will receive NPR 206,666.
Ncell, as a responsible corporate organization, has been making significant contributions to the development of sports and the nurturing of talent.
