As per Dr. Nagmani Singh (trained in Australia for shoulder surgeries), the format was changed as the team noticed that medical knowledge in the field of shoulder surgery is lacking in the context of Nepal and that it was high time to shift the focus to shoulder disease management. Dr. Singh mentioned that the vision is to enhance the knowledge of orthopedic surgeons and future specialists with regard to shoulder pathology management.
The aim of the course was to empower the surgeons with appropriate knowledge so that patients with various shoulder management issues would be dealt with at par with international standards. Several renowned national orthopedic surgeons and world renowned shoulder surgeons from all across the globe gathered to discuss the various aspects of the shoulder problem and impart their insights.
A team of internationally recognized shoulder surgeons from Brisbane, Australia, led by Dr. Kenneth Cutbush and Dr. Ashish Gupta, Dr. Kapil Kumar from the UK, and several faculties from India (Dr. Ashish Babhulkar, Dr. Vivek Pandey, Dr. Bhupesh Karthik, Dr. Mukesh Laddha and Dr. Prathmesh Jain), were the keynote speakers for the event.
This international conference , conducted over 3 days, was a mix of 4 live surgeries, a pre-course, didactic lectures, debates, and panel discussions focusing exclusively on shoulder ailments.
