25th March 2026, Kathmandu
To accelerate the economic empowerment of women, the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs’ Associations of Nepal (FWEAN) has officially announced the 9th International Women’s Trade Expo 2026.
9th International Women’s Trade Expo 2026
The flagship event is scheduled to take place from April 2 to April 4, 2026 (Chaitra 20–22, 2082), at the Heritage Garden in Sanepa, Lalitpur.
The expo serves as a critical bridge between local innovation and global markets, specifically targeting the growth of cottage, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) led by women.
A Global Hub for Nepalese Women Entrepreneurs
This year’s theme centers on “Work Together, Win Together,” emphasizing collective growth in the post-election economic landscape of 2026. The event will bring together over 6,000 members from FWEAN’s 77 district chapters, alongside international delegates from South Asia and beyond.
Key Objectives of the 2026 Expo:
Market Entry & Expansion: Providing a high-visibility platform for Nepalese women entrepreneurs to showcase handicrafts, agribusiness, and IT-related services.
B2B Networking: Facilitating direct interaction between local producers and international buyers to boost Nepal’s export potential.
Digital Integration: This year’s fair will feature a special focus on digital literacy and e-commerce, helping traditional businesses transition into the modern digital economy.
FWEAN: 23 Years of Transforming the Grassroots Economy
Since its inception, FWEAN has grown into the apex body for women-led businesses in Nepal. With a network reaching every district, the Federation has empowered over 100,000 indirect beneficiaries.
During the press conference, FWEAN leadership highlighted that the expo is not just a sales event but a “knowledge-sharing zone.” This year will include specialized symposiums on sustainable business practices and access to finance, addressing the primary hurdles faced by female business owners in Nepal.
