Agni Group 35 Years CSR Initiative
A Milestone for Sustainable Community Empowerment
Agni Group, the sole authorized distributor of Mahindra vehicles in Nepal, recently celebrated its 35th Anniversary with a landmark corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
Through its nonprofit arm, Agni Foundation, the Group donated two Mahindra XUV400 electric SUVs to the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health (KIOCH) at a handover event in Budanilkantha, Kathmandu.
This gesture directly supports KIOCH’s mission to provide subsidized, international-standard healthcare to children under 18, particularly those in vulnerable and underserved communities.
The Impact of the Donation
The donation of the Mahindra XUV400 EVs is a strategic move to enable sustainable and expanded healthcare outreach:
Expanded Reach: The vehicles will be utilized across KIOCH’s extensive public health activities, including school health programs, district health system strengthening, and community health initiatives involving child disease screening.
Eco-Friendly Operations: The electric drive of the XUV400 EVs, combined with their advanced safety features and long-range capability, ensures that KIOCH’s travel for healthcare and education initiatives is smoother, safer, and more sustainable.
Direct & Indirect Benefit: Prof. Dr. Bhagawan Koirala, Chairman of KIOCH, highlighted that the vehicles will directly benefit thousands of children and indirectly smoothen the organization’s overall operations.
“Rising Together”: Agni Group’s Philosophy in Action
The initiative perfectly embodies the Agni Group’s core philosophy of “Rising Together,” emphasizing that true progress is measured by both business milestones and the upliftment of communities.
Susan Vaidya Shrestha, President of Agni Foundation, stated, “KIOCH is not just a medical institution, it is a place where hope is protected… We are humbled to support this meaningful work.”
The Foundation’s commitment to the health sector is well-established, with previous contributions including the renovation of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), including the establishment of the dedicated “Agni Wing” lounge for parents.
This milestone not only commemorates 35 years of the Group’s growth but reinforces its ongoing dedication to creating a meaningful and sustainable impact in Nepal.
