Hult Prize at IOE to Host SDG & Opportunity Mapping Session with Nabin Lamichhane

Hima Aus Offshore presents Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus is set to host a talk-series session titled “Finding the Purpose: SDGs & Opportunity Mapping” on Saturday, 24th January at Embark College, commencing from 10:30 AM onwards.

The session aims to guide participants in shaping sustainable solutions by exploring the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and identifying entrepreneurial opportunities aligned with them.
It will feature an expert presentation covering the 17 SDGs, highlighting Nepal-specific challenges related to these goals, and strategies for recognizing viable startup opportunities that advance sustainable development.
The keynote speaker is Nabin Lamichhane, a seasoned professional with more than two decades of experience in the development and humanitarian sectors.
He currently serves as Senior Global Safeguarding Adviser, with prior roles including Safeguarding Adviser for Asia at CARE USA, focusing on gender, protection, and policy advocacy.
Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions with international organizations such as CARE International and Oxfam, where he has specialized in safeguarding, risk management, ethical leadership, gender and protection programs, child protection, policy advocacy, program design, and multi-stakeholder partnerships.

His notable contributions include leading the Mercy Corps STEM project in Nepal’s Sudurpaschim Province, which empowered over 500 young girls through education and supported their establishment of independent businesses.
This work underscores his expertise at the intersection of sustainable development goals, responsible practices, and social impact initiatives.
The program will incorporate a hands-on group activity, during which participants will select an SDG, identify relevant problems, and formulate clear problem statements. Each team is expected to conclude the session with a validated, SDG-aligned problem statement to inform future entrepreneurial efforts.
