NADA President Oath Ceremony: Surendra Kumar Upreti Formally Assumes Office

The Nepalese automobile sector marks a significant leadership transition as the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal (NADA) officially conducted its handover ceremony.

In the first meeting of the Central Working Committee held on March 12, 2026 (Phalgun 28, 2082), the reins of the association were formally passed to the newly elected leadership.
The Leadership Handover: Karan Chaudhary to Surendra Kumar Upreti
Outgoing President Mr. Karan Chaudhary officially handed over the chairpersonship to Mr. Surendra Kumar Upreti. During the ceremony, Mr. Chaudhary expressed his full confidence in the new leadership, highlighting that Mr. Upreti’s vision would be instrumental in the institutional growth of NADA and the overall progress of the automobile industry in Nepal.
Commitment to the Nepalese Automobile Sector
Upon taking the oath of office and secrecy, President Surendra Kumar Upreti shared his strategic roadmap for his tenure. His primary focus areas include:
Institutional Strengthening: Ensuring NADA remains an active and effective representative body.
Member Advocacy: Protecting the rights and interests of Nepalese automobile entrepreneurs.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with government bodies and policy-makers to create a conducive environment for the auto industry.
“Our goal is to make NADA a more powerful and proactive institution, adhering strictly to our constitutional values while driving the growth of the automobile sector,” stated President Upreti during his inaugural address.
New Nominations to the Central Working Committee
Exercising the authority granted by Clause 20.1 (E) of the NADA Constitution 2078, President Upreti nominated three prominent industry figures to the Central Working Committee:

These appointments are expected to bring diverse expertise and renewed energy to the association’s upcoming activities and policy discussions.
Future Outlook and Office Bearer Elections
The Central Working Committee also announced that the election process for other key executive office-bearer positions will be conducted in the near future.
