Megha Chaudhary Appointed Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Morocco to Nepal

In a significant step toward strengthening North African-Nepalese diplomatic ties, Megha Chaudhary has been officially appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Morocco to Nepal.

Chaudhary, who serves as the Co-Chairperson of the prominent diversified conglomerate BLC Global Holdings Pvt. Ltd., received her formal letter of appointment on Wednesday.
The handover was conducted by Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singha Durbar.
A New Chapter in Diplomatic Relations
The appointment was initiated by His Excellency Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates of Morocco.
Following the standard diplomatic protocols, the Government of Nepal granted the exequatur (official recognition), designating Chaudhary’s consular jurisdiction across the Kathmandu Valley.
While assuming her post, Chaudhary emphasized the potential for growth between the two nations:
“I am honored to represent the Kingdom of Morocco. My focus will be to move beyond traditional diplomacy and actively foster meaningful economic and cultural exchanges. We aim to create a bridge that connects the aspirations of both Nepalese and Moroccan entrepreneurs and tourists.”

Megha Chaudhary’s appointment comes at a time when Nepal is looking to diversify its international trade portfolio.
