The grand launch event was held at Sky Tower, Kamaladi, Kathmandu, one of the capital’s most iconic landmarks, standing approximately 78.5 meters (256 feet) tall.
The choice of venue symbolised Yamaha’s vision of elevating innovation and performance to new heights while offering a dynamic, multi-level space to host an immersive launch experience.
The event was uniquely curated in two distinct phases, reflecting Yamaha’s strong connection with both digital and riding communities.
The first phase welcomed influencers and content creators for an exclusive preview and interactive engagement, while the second phase brought together media representatives, business partners, dealers, and members of the riding fraternity, including roadies gang leaders, racers, and the Yamaha riding community, such as Blue Streaks and the broader biking community.
The evening was attended by Vishnu Kumar Agarwal, Chairman, Deepak Kumar Agrawal, ED and CEO, along with Rajdeep Singh, GM Export Marketing, and Bipin Singh, DGM Export Marketing from Yamaha Motor India Sales, along with key stakeholders from the Yamaha family.
The event was also attended by notable personalities such as Barsha Basnet and Shreehari Poudel, along with media and content creators who showed strong enthusiasm for the product.
The unveiling was done together by a robot and a human, highlighting the concept of hybrid technology and collaboration.
Adding further excitement to the event, Yamaha officially announced Anoop Bikram Shahi as its brand ambassador, reinforcing the brand’s bold, stylish, and performance-driven identity.
The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the hybrid motorcycle from the iconic FZ Series, a model that has defined performance and street presence since its introduction in 2008.
Building on this strong legacy, Yamaha has now introduced an upgraded hybrid system that integrates its proven 149cc fuel-injected engine with smart motor assist technology.
This next-generation hybrid system goes beyond conventional efficiency upgrades. Compared to standard motorcycles, it delivers enhanced acceleration through electric assist, smoother start-stop functionality, improved fuel economy, and reduced emissions.
The system is particularly effective in urban riding conditions, offering seamless power delivery during initial acceleration and low-speed riding, making it a futuristic yet practical solution for Nepal’s evolving mobility needs.
With rising fuel costs and increasing traffic congestion across Nepal, hybrid technology represents a forward-looking shift in everyday commuting.
By combining conventional engine reliability with intelligent battery-assisted performance, the motorcycle offers improved mileage of 60 kmpl+, lower running costs, and a more environmentally responsible riding experience, perfectly suited to Nepal’s diverse terrain.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Vishnu Kumar Agarwal shared Yamaha’s long-term vision, stating, “This launch marks a significant step forward for Yamaha in Nepal. By introducing hybrid technology in the motorcycle segment, we are moving towards smarter and more responsible performance.
Yamaha remains committed to bringing advanced global innovation to Nepali riders.” He further highlighted that Yamaha has always been known for its advanced and proven technologies, including its reliable fuel-injection (FI) systems, reinforcing the brand’s legacy of innovation and performance.
The newly introduced motorcycle brings together a comprehensive range of features designed to enhance performance, safety, and comfort. Built on a lightweight 135 kg body, it offers improved agility and a strong power-to-weight ratio.
It is equipped with single-channel Bosch ABS, a 220 mm rear disc brake, and wide radial tyres for superior grip and stability. The hybrid assist system further enhances responsiveness, clearly differentiating it from conventional motorcycles.
To elevate the launch experience, Yamaha also created a dedicated Experience Zone at the venue, featuring product displays and showcasing the FZ Series legacy from 2008 to 2026.
From static displays to interactive showcases, attendees, including influencers, media, and riders, were able to explore the bike’s history, features, design, and hybrid technology up close, reinforcing the brand’s focus on experiential engagement.
In addition to performance, the motorcycle reflects Yamaha’s signature styling and advanced functionality. It features an LED headlight with separate high and low beam units, an integrated body sidelight, a two-level seat for enhanced comfort, a midship muffler with a refined exhaust note, and an engine under cowl that enhances both protection and sporty appeal. Modern features such as a negative LCD instrument cluster and E20 fuel compatibility further highlight its future-ready design.
Yamaha’s strong nationwide presence further enhances customer confidence. With an extensive network of 100 dealerships, 95 fully equipped service points, and 117 authorised service providers (ASPs) across Nepal, Yamaha ensures reliable after-sales service, easy access to genuine spare parts, and a seamless ownership experience nationwide.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Deepak Kumar Agrawal expressed gratitude to Yamaha’s partners and customers, “This achievement reflects the collective effort of the entire Yamaha family. Together, we are proud to shape the future of mobility in Nepal.”
The event concluded on a celebratory note, marking the beginning of a new era in Nepal’s motorcycle industry. With this launch, Yamaha not only introduced a new product but also established a new hybrid category, redefining performance, efficiency, and sustainability. The future of motorcycling in Nepal now begins.
