During the second day of the 7th edition of the ‘Kuda Karnali’ festival, F1Soft CEO Subash Sharma highlighted a critical roadmap for the province’s future.

Speaking at the ‘Connecting Karnali’ session, Sharma asserted that technology cannot reach the grassroots level without the essential foundations of roads and electricity.
The Digital Foundation: Beyond Just Internet
While the world moves toward rapid digitalization, remote regions like Karnali face unique hurdles. According to F1Soft CEO Subash Sharma, the push for a digital economy is inseparable from physical infrastructure.
“Technology access is not just about having a smartphone; it is about the power that charges it and the roads that bring the technicians to maintain the networks,” Sharma stated.
He pointed out that while F1Soft and other fintech leaders are ready to expand services, the reliability of these services depends on the integrated development of the province’s physical pillars.
Bridging the Literacy Gap
A significant takeaway from Sharma’s address was the need for digital literacy. He suggested that even when the internet arrives, the community must be equipped with the skills to use it safely and productively.

Public-Private Partnership: Sharma called for collaboration between the government and non-governmental organizations to spearhead digital education.
Economic Inclusion: By providing digital tools to the Nepalese people in Karnali, the region can bypass traditional barriers to banking and commerce.

The session, which also featured energy experts and former government officials, concluded that Karnali’s isolation is its biggest economic bottleneck.
