The initiative also included the distribution of 200+ helmets and raincoats, alongside road safety training designed to help motorbike drivers operate safely during the monsoon season.
The event also highlighted the role of local fleet partners in creating economic opportunities through Nepal’s growing gig economy. Through Yango Ride’s partner-driven model, businesses can operate and grow their own fleets on the platform, creating new earning opportunities for citizens of Nepal and supporting local entrepreneurship.
“Yango Ride’s platform is designed to create value for everyone in the ecosystem, from partner drivers and passengers to local business partners,” said Santosh Pandey, Country Manager at Yango Ride in Nepal. “By working with entrepreneurs and fleet partners, we can help expand access to flexible earning opportunities while contributing to the growth of Nepal’s digital economy.”
The event also featured a dedicated road safety awareness session led by Inspector Rajiv Basnet under the leadership of DSP Salendra Bhatta of Nepal Traffic Police, covering traffic regulations, safe riding practices, civic sense, and precautions for riding during the rainy season.
“Safety is one of the top priorities for us at Yango and a core part of how we build and grow our platform,” Santosh further added. “We are proud to work with Nepal Traffic Police to equip partner drivers with the knowledge and resources they need to stay safe on the road. As we continue expanding mobility opportunities in Kathmandu, supporting partner drivers and passenger safety remains a key priority.”
Innohub Pvt. Ltd., a Nepali fleet partner, facilitated the distribution of more than 200 motorcycles and helmets to new motorcycle drivers during the event. The initiative demonstrates how collaboration between technology platforms, local businesses, and public institutions can help create accessible income opportunities while supporting the development of a safer mobility ecosystem.
The initiative reflects Yango Ride’s ongoing commitment to supporting partner moto drivers through safety-focused programs, local partnerships, and access to flexible earning opportunities across Kathmandu.
