IIMS X Perceptron International Hackathon 2026 | 48-Hour AI Challenge
2nd July 2026, Kathmandu
The countdown to Nepalese tech innovation has officially begun! IIMS College, in collaboration with Perceptron AI Labs, is hosting the IIMS × Perceptron International Hackathon 2026. This isn’t your typical coding competition; it is a grueling, prestigious 48-hour AI innovation challenge where engineering meets real-world execution.
IIMS X Perceptron International Hackathon
Whether you are a developer, researcher, data enthusiast, or Nepalese student looking to disrupt the tech landscape, this hackathon challenges you to build an AI project completely from scratch.
The Core Philosophy: “Dataset-First” AI
Most hackathons hand you a clean dataset and tell you to optimize a model. In the real world, AI doesn’t work that way. The IIMS × Perceptron International Hackathon 2026 shifts the focus to where true machine learning begins: the data.
Your squad will follow a complete end-to-end AI workflow:
Build Your Dataset: Identify a problem and collect raw records or images from scratch.
Train Your Custom Model: Annotate your data and train neural networks (like YOLO, PyTorch, or TensorFlow).
Evaluate & Run Inference: Test your system on unseen data, build a live demo, and pitch its real-world economic impact.
Exclusive Tools, Mentorship, and Tracks
To help teams manage a rapid 48-hour sprint, Perceptron AI Labs is opening up exclusive developer resources.
Official Tooling (Auta Platform): Participants will get active credentials and onboarding tokens for Auta, an advanced dataset creation and labeling tool. Teams can easily organize and tag up to 10,000 visual data segments per user.
Onboarding Workshop: Don’t sweat the learning curve. A dedicated pre-event demo session will train all teams on using Auta and optimizing their data sprints.
Expert Guidance: Industry-leading mentors will assist your squad with problem validation, dataset cleaning, and final model architecture.
Hackathon Challenge Paths
Teams can build their solutions across four distinct, high-impact tracks:
Medical AI: Computer vision for clinical diagnostics, cellular tracking, or pathology logs.
Sports Analytics: Computer vision tracking player kinematics, tactical patterns, or automated refereeing.
Satellite & Remote Sensing: Object classification for disaster response, tracking urban shifts, or agricultural mapping.
Open Innovation: Propose a unique problem statement and tailor your dataset to a creative, real-world issue.
Prize Pool & Rewards
Apart from networking with tech leaders, international panel judges, and potential investors, teams are competing for a massive NPR 2,62,500 total cash prize pool:
Grand Champion: Rs. 1,50,000 + Completion Certificates + Feature Showcase
First Runner-Up: Rs. 75,000 + Completion Certificates
Second Runner-Up: Rs. 37,500 + Completion Certificates
