Kumari Bank Issues Final Notice To Capable Engineering for Construction and Development Consultancy
23rd July 2026, Kathmandu
Kumari Bank Limited has issued a seven day public notice to Capable Engineering for Construction and Development Consultancy Private Limited.
Kumari Bank Final Notice
The bank demands a clear explanation regarding a collateral valuation report submitted under an agreement signed on August 13, 2020.
Background Of The Valuation Agreement
The agreement allowed the consultancy firm to conduct technical reviews and property valuations for assets offered as loan collateral. Commercial banks rely heavily on these reports to determine credit limits and manage overall financial exposure.
Prior Response Declared Unsatisfactory
Kumari Bank stated that it had previously requested written clarification regarding the valuation report in question. However, after reviewing the initial response submitted by the consultancy, the management found the explanations inadequate and unsatisfactory.
Mandatory Seven Day Deadline
The public notice grants the consultancy firm a final seven day window to contact the bank. The firm must present clear, technically sound, and legally valid evidence to address all outstanding concerns regarding the collateral assessment.
Implications Of Non Compliance And Legal Action
If the company fails to respond within seven days, Kumari Bank will initiate legal action under prevailing laws. The bank warned that it will recommend the consultancy, its promoters, and concerned parties for blacklisting through the Credit Information Center.
Impact Of Credit Information Center Blacklisting
Blacklisting by the Credit Information Center carries severe consequences in Nepal. Listed entities lose access to banking credit, public tenders, and future consultancy contracts with financial institutions across the nation.
Ensuring Financial Integrity In Banking
Accurate property valuations are vital for protecting depositor funds and maintaining banking stability. Overvalued collateral creates systemic risk during loan defaults, making strict oversight of property evaluators an essential practice for commercial banks.
