29th July 2026, Kathmandu
Kumari Bank Limited has formed a strategic technology partnership with Kurakani Online Pvt. Ltd., the operator of Nimbuzz in Nepal.
KBL eSIM, IDP Integration
Through this collaboration, the bank has integrated international travel and connectivity solutions directly into its official mobile banking application.
This move allows account holders to access essential international services within a single digital ecosystem before traveling abroad.
New International Services Integrated Into The App
The new integration enables Kumari Bank customers to complete key travel preparations directly through their mobile devices:
- International eSIM Data Packages: Users can browse and purchase digital cellular data plans for foreign destination countries, eliminating the need for physical local SIM cards upon arrival.
- International Driving Permits (IDP): Customers can apply for an International Driving Permit online, simplifying the administrative procedures required to drive vehicles in foreign nations.
Local Currency Payment Mechanism In Nepalese Rupees
A key advantage of this partnership is the ability to pay for all international services directly in Nepalese Rupees (NPR).
Payments are deducted seamlessly from the customer’s account, eliminating the need for USD-denominated credit cards or foreign payment channels.
This feature helps travelers avoid extra foreign currency conversion markups and offers convenient local expense tracking.
Target Audience And Practical Benefits
The digital travel offerings are designed to assist several outbound travel groups:
- Tourists: Enables immediate cellular data connectivity upon landing at foreign destinations for navigation and communication.
- Students: Helps individuals heading overseas for higher education secure initial data plans and international driving documentation prior to departure.
- Business Travelers: Provides a streamlined digital solution for professionals to manage international travel logistics using their primary bank account.
Promoting Digital Transformation And Financial Inclusion
Kumari Bank stated that the initiative supports its ongoing digital transformation strategy.
By integrating lifestyle and travel tools into its financial app, the bank makes international services accessible to users across urban, semi-urban, and rural areas of Nepal.
Celebrating over 25 years of operations, Kumari Bank serves its growing customer base through a nationwide network of 285 branches, 41 extension counters, 303 ATMs, and 40 branchless banking outlets.
