NMB Bank Profit Exceeds Rs 4 Billion As Loan Portfolio Expands 9.33 Percent In FY 2082/83

NMB Bank Limited has reported a strong financial performance for the fiscal year 2082/83, posting a 40.60% year-on-year increase in net profit.
NMB Bank Profit Exceeds Rs 4 Billion
By the end of the fourth quarter, net profit reached Rs 4.01 billion, up from Rs 2.85 billion recorded in the previous fiscal year.
The earnings growth was driven by higher interest income, expanded lending operations, and increased fee collection.
Net Interest Income And Operating Profit Expand
The net interest income of NMB Bank increased by 17.52% to reach Rs 9.42 billion, compared to Rs 8.02 billion in the prior fiscal year.
During the review period, key operating metrics stood at:
- Net fee and commission income: Rs 2.59 billion
- Total operating income: Rs 13.03 billion
- Operating profit: Rs 6.11 billion
In the corresponding period of the previous year, the bank reported Rs 2.18 billion in fee income, Rs 10.88 billion in operating income, and Rs 4.73 billion in operating profit.
Dividend Distribution Capacity Reaches 9.08 Percent
The distributable profit of NMB Bank reached Rs 1.75 billion for the fiscal year, establishing a dividend distribution capacity of 9.08%.
The paid-up capital of the commercial bank stood at Rs 22.28 billion, while total reserves increased to Rs 13.90 billion.
Any final dividend distribution remains subject to formal approval from Nepal Rastra Bank and the upcoming general meeting of shareholders.
Deposit Base And Lending Portfolio Continue Expansion
NMB Bank recorded steady growth across its core deposit mobilization and credit disbursement activities:
- Total Customer Deposits: Expanded 12.17% to Rs 315.11 billion
- Total Loans and Advances: Grew 9.33% to Rs 249.75 billion
In the previous fiscal year, customer deposits stood at Rs 280.92 billion, while total loans and advances totaled Rs 228.45 billion.
The Credit-to-Deposit ratio of the bank closed at 82.77% at the end of Asar 2083.
Key Financial Indicators And Earnings Per Share
Supported by net profit expansion, the Earnings Per Share of NMB Bank climbed to Rs 20.18, up from Rs 14.80 in the previous year.

- Net Worth Per Share: Rs 181.15
- Non-Performing Loan Ratio: Increased to 4.91% from 4.11% in the previous year
