Govt’s Taxpayers Live on Khalti
IME Khalti Limited (Khalti) has integrated the Government of Nepal’s “Taxpayer Incentive Scheme 2083” into its mobile platform, enabling seamless participation for digital wallet users across the country. Operative under the Inland Revenue Department (Ministry of Finance), the initiative rewards consumers who adopt digital payment systems for daily transactions.
Through this feature, Khalti users who complete eligible digital payments of NPR 100 or more automatically become eligible for daily and bi-weekly reward draws.
Reward Structure and Cash Prizes
The Taxpayer Incentive Scheme offers significant cash incentives to promote bill-based digital spending:
Daily Draw: 1 winner receives NPR 100,000 (after tax deductions).
Bi-Weekly Bumper Draw: 1 winner receives NPR 1,000,000 every 15 days (after tax deductions).
How the Program Works on Khalti
The integration provides an automated experience for consumers:
Automatic Transaction Logging: Transaction data for eligible bills processed through Khalti is transferred securely to the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) platform.

Digital Gift Coupons: Gift coupons generate automatically within the Khalti app, allowing users to track their entries directly.
Automated Winner Selection: The IRD selects winners via an automated system on the 1st and 16th of every month.
Notifications: Winners are notified directly by the IRD via SMS and email, with Khalti providing additional verification updates through its channels.
