LBEF Launches New MBA in AI and Digital Leadership Programs in Kathmandu

New MBA in AI
Lord Buddha Education Foundation, recognized as Nepal’s first IT college, has officially launched two new academic programs: an MBA in AI and a Digital Leadership program.
The initiative addresses the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence and information technology alongside growing market demands.
Affiliation and Academic Recognition
According to Er. Pankaj Jalan, Chairman of the Foundation, the programs are launched under the affiliation of the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU). They have received approval from the Ministry of Education and equivalence from Tribhuvan University. The Foundation collaborated with DLA Consulting to bring these courses to fruition.
Integrating AI into Business and Management
Speaking at the launch event, Chairman Jalan emphasized that AI is no longer just a future technology; it has become essential across banking, commerce, management, data analysis, report generation, and daily office operations.
“Tasks that used to take humans hours a few years ago are now done by AI in mere minutes,” Jalan stated. “With this shift, our goal is not just to teach students how to build technical AI software or tools, but to integrate AI with education, business, and management for real-world applications.”

During the event, Executive Director Prakash Kejriwal presented a working paper detailing the current and future outlook of IT development and artificial intelligence.
State-of-the-Art Physical AI Server Lab
Lord Buddha Education Foundation is also preparing to establish a physical AI server lab by importing specialized servers from abroad. Rather than just a room with equipment, the lab will serve as a foundational platform for putting AI education into practice.
The physical lab will allow students to conduct experiments, testing, and hands-on learning on dedicated servers at a lower cost, moving beyond textbooks and videos. Additionally, students will gain access to 11 international online labs, research papers, journals, and books.
Building Nepal’s Future Business Leadership
Suman Neupane, Founder and Chairman of DLA Consulting, highlighted that artificial intelligence has evolved beyond a mere component of IT to become an integral part of strategic decision-making for organizations of all sizes.
“By bringing this international-level AI curriculum to Kathmandu, we are not just adding another academic degree; we are laying a new foundation to build Nepal’s future business leadership,” Neupane noted, adding that the IT sector has become a vital engine for Nepal’s economic growth.
