Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited has warned its insurance agents against engaging in false misleading or exaggerated promotional activities regarding insurance products and services.

Notice Issuance Chief Executive Officer Praveen Raman Parajuli issued a public notice instructing agents to comply strictly with the directives of the Nepal Insurance Authority and the company internal code of conduct.
Regulatory Context The warning follows a notice from the Nepal Insurance Authority regarding complaints about intermediaries spreading misleading information that negatively impacts the sector.
Prohibited Marketing Activities and Legal Constraints
Prohibition on False Claims Under Directive Number 19 Schedule 1 Point 2j of the Insurance Agent Directive 2083 BS agents are barred from making false or exaggerated statements about their represented insurer or other insurance companies.
Social Media Restrictions In line with Section 2.25 of Nepal Life Agent Code of Conduct effective from Baisakh 9 2083 BS agents are prohibited from using social media platforms to spread inaccurate information or damage corporate reputation.
Enforcement Action Any agent found violating regulatory provisions or the company code of conduct through misleading publicity will face strict disciplinary and legal action under prevailing laws.
