Ncell Restores Mobile Towers in Flood-Hit Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading

Ncell has successfully restored 14 mobile towers in the flood- and landslide-affected districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading, ensuring vital communication lines are back up for local communities and rescue operations.
Of the 27 sites affected across the three districts, Ncell restored 3 in Rasuwa, 8 in Nuwakot, and 3 in Dhading.
Overcoming Fiber and Network Challenges
Disasters had severely impacted 27 Ncell mobile towers after fiber links were disrupted over a 70–80-kilometer stretch. Through the tireless efforts of Ncell’s technical team, services are progressively returning to normal.
“Where possible, damaged fibers have been repaired to bring towers back online. In other areas, network connectivity has been restored using legacy microwave links. We have also collaborated with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to re-establish fiber connectivity in select regions,” said Leena Keshari Kansakar, Head of Network at Ncell.
To overcome challenging terrain and blocked paths, Ncell deployed its technical teams via both air and land routes. The swift restoration was made possible through close cooperation and coordination with various government agencies.

Quick Response to Additional Outages in Dhading
In a separate incident, debris-clearing work in the Galchhi area of Dhading accidentally severed a fiber line, impacting an additional 18 sites. However, Ncell’s rapid-response technical team was immediately mobilized, successfully restoring all 18 sites within a short timeframe.
Prioritizing Relief and Rescue Communication
Maintaining continuous telecommunications during times of crisis plays a critical role in supporting effective rescue and relief operations. Ncell has prioritized restoring network connectivity so that affected citizens can remain in touch with their families and coordinate essential humanitarian support.
Ncell extended its sincere gratitude to collaborating entities, including the Nepal Telecommunication Authority, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Nepali Army, and corporate partners like Huawei and ZTE.
Reaffirming its commitment to the community, Ncell stated that it stands firmly with those affected by the disaster, continuously deploying its network and technical resources to ensure uninterrupted telecommunication services wherever possible.
