Nepal Netra Jyoti Association Donates Rs 14.14 Million to PM Relief Fund

The Nepal Netra Jyoti Association has provided a financial contribution of Rs 14,141,141 to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to assist in rescue, relief, and rehabilitation operations following the devastating Bhotekoshi floods.

The disaster, which occurred on Bhadra 10, caused severe loss of life and property across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts.

Donation Breakup and Official Handover
The financial support was formally presented to central government representatives after mobilizing contributions across the network.
- Handover Ceremony: Association General Secretary Bharat Bahadur Chand handed over the donation cheque and bank payment voucher to Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle on Wednesday.
- Institutional Contributions: A total of Rs 9,974,506 was collected directly from institutional entities within the network, including affiliated eye hospitals, eye care centers, and district branches.
- Individual Contributions: Association employees and volunteers contributed an additional Rs 4,166,635 toward the disaster relief pool.
Field Medical Support and Institutional Operations
In addition to its monetary donation, the organization is actively dispatching health services to flood affected communities.
- Direct Medical Services: The association is deploying mobile teams to deliver free eye examinations, medical treatments, and consultations for disaster victims in affected areas.
- Healthcare Infrastructure: Services across the country are delivered through an operational network consisting of 28 eye hospitals, 44 district branches, and 226 specialized eye care centers.
- Historical Medical Impact: Over its operational history, the organization network has provided eye care services to over 50.2 million individuals and performed surgical procedures on more than 5.65 million patients.
