Urmila Shrestha, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Salt Trading Corporation Limited, has been honored with the prestigious Corporate Excellence Leadership Award.
The recognition was presented during the Asian Professional Achievement Award ceremony organized by Season Media. The award was jointly conferred by Nepal’s first President, Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, Nepal Chamber of Commerce President Kamalesh Kumar Agarwal, the Bangladeshi Ambassador to Nepal, and Season Media Chairman Pradip Raj Onta.
Leading Salt Trading, a company operating under a joint investment of the government and the private sector, Shrestha has played a vital role in ensuring smooth supply, distribution, and effective market management of essential commodities. Under her leadership, the organization has consistently maintained crucial supply chain management during crises and disasters.

Beyond corporate governance, Shrestha is an active advocate for women’s entrepreneurship. As the Vice President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and President of the Nepal Women Chamber, she has spearheaded initiatives focused on financial literacy, business training, and enterprise promotion for women and youth entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, she serves as the Vice President of the European Economic Chamber, an Executive Member of the International Chamber of Commerce, and Senior Vice President of the Nepal-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce.
Organizers stated that the Corporate Excellence Leadership Award was presented to Shrestha in acknowledgment of her exceptional contributions to corporate leadership and the promotion of women’s entrepreneurship in Nepalese business sectors.
