Nepal SBI Bank Limited has updated its interest rate structure, effective from 17th September 2026 (1st Ashwin 2083).

This guide outlines the latest interest rates across deposits, personal and business loans, and general conditions.
Deposit Products
Under Fixed, Recurring, and Dhanvriddhi deposits for individuals, accounts with a tenure of 3 months to less than 6 months yield 2.82% per annum, 6 months to less than 1 year yield 3.00% per annum, 1 year to less than 2 years yield 3.20% per annum, 2 years to less than 3 years yield 3.90% per annum, and 3 years and above yield 4.10% per annum. Institutional, Foreign, and Diplomatic Institutions earn 2.75% per annum for 6 months to less than 1 year, 2.75% per annum for 1 year to less than 2 years, 2.75% per annum for 2 years to less than 3 years, and 2.25% per annum for 3 years and above.
For NPR Call Deposits, the rate is up to 0.75%. In FCY Saving Deposits, USD yields 3.10% per annum, EUR yields 0.50% per annum, and GBP yields 0.50% per annum. In FCY Fixed Deposits (3 months and above for individuals, 6 months and above for institutions), USD offers up to 3.85%, EUR offers up to 1.00%, and GBP offers up to 1.00%. For FCY Call Deposits, USD yields 1.50%, EUR yields 0.25%, and GBP yields 0.37%.
In Local Currency Saving Deposits, Samriddha Nagarrik Bachat Khata and Saral Bachat Khata offer 2.75% per annum, Savings Swarnim Bachat Khata offers 2.76% per annum, Savings PF offers 2.77% per annum, SB Corporate Salary Package (CSP) offers 2.77% per annum, Savings Rakshak Bachat Khata offers 2.78% per annum, NSBL Bal Bachat Khata and Savings Akshay Kosh offer 2.79% per annum, and S2 Karmachari Bachat Khata, Chhori Bachat Khata, as well as all other LCY Saving Accounts offer 2.80% per annum.
Loans and Advances
For fixed rate loans, Education Loan and Education Loan Plus rate is 9.99% for up to 5 years, 10.49% for above 5 to 10 years, and 10.99% for above 10 years. Home Loan fixed rate is 8.99% for up to 5 years, 9.49% for above 5 to 10 years, and 10.49% for above 10 years. Auto Loan and Hire Purchase Loan (Personal/Official) fixed rate is 8.99% for up to 5 years and 9.49% for above 5 to 10 years. Auto Loan and Hire Purchase Loan (Commercial) fixed rate is 9.99% for up to 5 years and 10.99% for above 5 to 10 years. Personal Mortgage, Term Loan, Other Personal Term Loan, Bhu Poo Loan, Bhu Poo Plus Loan, Loan to Migrant Workers, and Deprived Sector Lending (Individuals) carry a fixed rate of 9.99% for up to 5 years, 10.99% for above 5 to 10 years, and 11.99% for above 10 years. Term Loan and Project Finance fixed rate is 7.75% for up to 3 years, 8.00% for above 3 to 5 years, 9.50% for above 5 to 10 years, and 9.50% for above 10 years.
For floating rate loans, Education Loan and Education Loan Plus floating rates range from Base Rate + 2.00% to 4.00%. Home Loan floating rate ranges from Base Rate + 0.50% to 2.50%. Auto Loan and Hire Purchase Loan floating rates depend on the category: Personal EV is Base Rate + 0.25% to 2.25%, Personal IC is Base Rate + 0.50% to 2.50%, Official EV is Base Rate + 0.25% to 2.25%, Official IC is Base Rate + 0.50% to 2.50%, Commercial EV is Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00%, and Commercial IC is Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00%. Personal Mortgage, Term Loan, and Other Personal Term Loan floating rate is Base Rate + 0.50% to 2.50%. Bhu Poo Loan, Bhu Poo Plus Loan, and Loan to Migrant Workers floating rate is Base Rate + 2.00% to 4.00%. Deprived Sector Lending (Individuals) floating rate is Base Rate + 2.00% to 4.00%. Term Loan and Project Finance floating rate varies by sector: Corporate or Mid-Corporate is Base Rate + up to 2.00%, Prime is Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00%, and Others is Base Rate + 2.00% to 4.00%.
For commercial and business lines, Working Capital / Cash Credit, Trust Receipt, Short Term Demand Loan, Term Loan / Project Finance, and Working Capital / Cash Credit Multinational floating rates are Base Rate + up to 2.00% for Corporate and Mid-Corporate Customers, Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00% for Prime Customers, and Base Rate + 2.00% to 4.00% for Other Customers. Pre-shipment / Post-Shipment Loan for FCY Loan is as per agreement subject to NRB guidelines. Loan Against FDR is FD Rate + up to 2.00% or Base Rate (whichever is higher). Deprived Sector Lending (MFI) is Base Rate + up to 2.00%. Deprived Sector Lending (NBFC) is Base Rate + (2.00% – 4.00%) for qualifying institutions. Deprived Sector Lending (Retail) is Base Rate + 2.00% to 4.00%. Personal Loan / Overdraft is Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00%. SME Loan and NSBL Saral Karja for MSME rates are Base Rate + up to 2.00% for Prime Customers and Base Rate + 2.00% to 4.00% for Other Customers. NSBL Krishak Sathi Karja is Base Rate + up to 2.00%. Loan Against Share / Margin Lending is Base Rate + 2.00% to 4.00%. Loan Against Bonds (Govt & Others) is Base Rate – Up to 2.00% or Applicable Base Rate (whichever is higher). Gold Loan rate is Base Rate + 2.00% to 4.00%. FCY Loans (For Payment of Sight LC) are based on agreement or MRR plus premium.
The last three months average Base Rate is 5.14%, the Base Rate for Shrawan 2083 is 5.05%, and the Interest Spread Rate for Shrawan 2083 is 3.27%.
Key Notice Conditions
Interest rates applicable on forced loans may vary with risk premium from the published rate, while consortium financing rates are decided by consortium meetings. Interest rate concessions are provided to specified sectors under normal Deprived Sector Loans in line with NRB Directives. The interest rate on loans provided under Work Procedure on Interest Subsidy for Concessional Loan, 2082 is Base Rate + maximum 1.50%. Interest rates in NPA accounts may vary, and a penal interest of plus 2% per annum applies to overdue amounts. Risk Premium up to the highest published premium rate may be charged for cases requiring additional provisioning. Bills under import LC (BLC) and other forced loans attract the highest published interest rate. For Remittance Deposits, 1% above card rates applies per NRB guidelines. Institutional Fixed Deposits do not allow premature facilities before completion of 6 months. Fixed Deposits under the Dhanvriddhi Scheme are accepted for 6 months and above only. Fixed rates on Personal or Official purpose vehicle loans booked or sanctioned during the Festive Campaign (12th August 2026 – 15th December 2026) are 6.99% for a 5-year repayment period and 7.99% for a 7-year repayment period. Interest rates on other deposit and loan schemes remain unchanged.
