Tribhuvan University Donates NPR 92.5 Million for Flood Relief Fund

Tribhuvan University (TU) has officially contributed NPR 92.5 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

The fund is collected to assist in rescue, relief, and rehabilitation operations for citizens affected by devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi river and surrounding districts.

Relief Fund Handover Details
- Total Donation Amount: NPR 92.5 Million (NPR 9 Crore 25 Lakh)
- Recipient Fund: Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund
- Handover Representative: Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University
- Receiving Official: Sasmit Pokharel, Minister for Education and Sports
- Source of Funds: Salary and allowance deductions from TU officials, faculty members, and administrative staff as decided by the TU Executive Council.
Salary Deduction Breakdown by Designation
- Vice-Chancellor, Rector, and Registrar: 1 month salary
- Professors and Equivalent Administrative Staff: 10 days of initial monthly base salary
- Associate Professors, Deputy Administrators, Section Officers, and Instructors: 7 days of base salary
- Chief Office Assistants, Office Assistants, and Equivalent Staff: 5 days of base salary
- Non-Category / Support Staff: 2 days of base salary
