Bhatbhateni Supermarket has announced the official reopening of its landmark Tangal store in Kathmandu starting Monday, Ashoj 5, 2083.

Following extensive arson damage, the company has successfully restored and operationalized 10 out of its 12 affected outlets across the country, while reconstruction continues for the remaining branches in Damak and Hetauda.
Operational Status and Store Expansion Progress
Chief Operating Officer Panu Paudel confirmed that the Tangal store will open its doors at 8:00 AM on Monday and resume regular daily business operations.
- Tangal Store Opening: Resumes full operations on Monday, Ashoj 5, starting from 8:00 AM.
- Outlet Restoration Status: 10 out of 12 damaged supermarket branches, including Koteshwor and Tangal, are fully operational.
- Ongoing Reconstruction: Structural work, equipment installation, and interior construction are currently underway to reopen the remaining two stores in Damak and Hetauda.

Despite suffering heavy financial and structural losses from the arson incidents, Bhatbhateni’s Chairman and Managing Director Min Bahadur Gurung reaffirmed the group’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and staff retention.
- Employment and Bonus Safeguards: Maintained full employment for all 10,000+ staff members with zero job cuts, while fully distributing annual Dashain festival bonuses post-arson.
- Healthcare CSR Initiative: Invested over NPR 710 Million (71 Crore) toward the construction of a specialized children’s hospital in Kathmandu to deliver international-standard pediatric medical services under one roof.
- Rapid Rebuilding Timeline: Commenced debris clearing within a week of the incidents, fully rebuilding and reopening the severely burned Koteshwor outlet within five months.
