Rastriya Banijya Bank Leads Financial Closure for 21 MW Jaldigad Hydropower Project

Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited has led the consortium financing agreement for the construction of the 21-megawatt Jaldigad Hydropower Project.

The project is situated in Aathbiskot Municipality of Rukum West district.
Project Cost and Financing Structure
The financial closure agreement was formally signed and exchanged between the promoter company and consortium banking partners at Rastriya Banijya Bank’s central office in Singha Durbar Plaza, Kathmandu.
- Total Estimated Project Cost: The overall construction cost of the hydropower project is estimated at 4.60 billion rupees.
- Consortium Debt Financing: A total co-financing debt agreement of 3.42 billion rupees has been secured through the participating banking institutions.
- Equity Contribution: The remaining project cost beyond the bank debt will be managed and funded directly through promoter equity.
Bank Wise Consortium Investment Breakdown
The co-financing agreement is led by Rastriya Banijya Bank along with two other major financial institutions.
- Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited: Leading lender contributing the highest share of 1.42 billion rupees in credit investment.
- Nepal Bank Limited: Participating lender committing 1.00 billion rupees to the debt syndicate.
- Nepal Infrastructure Development Bank (NIFRA): Participating lender committing 1.00 billion rupees toward project financing.
- Regional Impact: Rastriya Banijya Bank highlighted that leading financial partnerships in hydropower infrastructure will drive economic and social development across the Karnali region.
