The personal credit scheme offers financing solutions for Nepalese citizens seeking to purchase land, buy completed residential properties or apartments, construct new homes, or undertake home renovations. The product features flexible repayment options, long loan tenures, and competitive interest rates to expand access to residential housing finance.
Key Terms, Eligibility, and Loan Parameters
The credit facility establishes specific borrower criteria, financing caps, and repayment structures tailored for both salaried and self-employed individuals.
- Borrower Eligibility: Applicants must be Nepalese citizens with a minimum age of 25 years, and the borrower’s age must not exceed 70 years at loan maturity. Applicants are required to demonstrate a stable source of regular income.
- Loan Amounts and Limits: Minimum loan size begins at 1 million Nepalese Rupees (NPR). Residential home loans are capped at NPR 30 million, with credit requests exceeding NPR 30 million classified under commercial home loan terms.
- Loan Tenure: Maximum repayment terms are set up to 30 years, or up to 20 years for loan repayments sourced exclusively from foreign remittance income.
- Financing Ratios: First-time home buyers can secure up to 80 percent of the property’s Fair Market Value (FMV). For non-first-time borrowers, residential financing is capped at 70 percent of FMV. Home construction loans can cover up to 100 percent of construction costs, subject to the overall 70 percent or 80 percent FMV limits based on bank valuation.
