Kumari Bank Offers Currency Exchange

Kumari Bank is offering foreign currency exchange for US Dollars (USD) and Australian Dollars (AUD) as well as Travel Card services to cater to the needs of travelers during the upcoming Dashain festival season. This service is designed to provide customers with a reliable and convenient way to secure foreign currency for their international trips.

Cash Exchange Services

Kumari Bank is facilitating the exchange of two major currencies: USD and AUD. To ensure accessibility for a wide range of customers, US dollars (USD) are available for exchange at all Kumari Bank branches within the Kathmandu Valley. This widespread availability makes it a convenient option for those traveling to the US or other destinations where the USD is the primary currency.

For travelers heading to Australia, Australian dollars (AUD) are available at a select number of branches. The designated locations for AUD cash exchange are:

This concentration of AUD services in key areas ensures that customers can access the currency efficiently. The bank’s website states that per Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) regulations, an additional 30 paisa shall be levied as a cash handling charge for AUD and USD cash sales for air travel.

In addition to cash exchange, Kumari Bank offers a Travel Card, a pre-paid international card that provides a secure alternative to carrying large sums of cash. This card is a VISA Travel Card (Prepaid) and is valid for a period of 3 years. The issuance fee for the Kumari International Travel Card is NPR 1,500, with a replacement/re-issue fee of NPR 1,000. While there is no annual fee, transactions and ATM withdrawals outside Nepal may incur a fee.
