Hosted by Airbus Helicopters with the support of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the day-long symposium brought together regulators, operators, and safety experts to exchange insights on accident prevention and data-driven safety systems, among other topics.
The event was inaugurated by H.E. Virginie Corteval, Ambassador of France to Nepal, and Pradeep Adhikari, Director General of CAAN.
It also featured addresses by Florence Verlut, Head of Aviation Safety and Quality, Airbus Helicopters, Jérome Ronssin, Head of Light Helicopters Program, Airbus Helicopters, and Sunny Guglani, Head of Airbus Helicopters, South Asia.
“At Airbus, safety is integrated into every decision – from design and production to maintenance, pilot training and data analytics,” said Florence Verlut. “Safety is not a static goal but a mindset that evolves through knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement. Symposiums like these are essential to reinforce our shared mission to ensure every helicopter flight is safe,” she added.
During the day-long event, participants attended technical sessions on Airbus’ global safety vision, accident statistics, and the implementation of safety management systems and helicopter flight data monitoring.
Experts also led discussions on aerial work operations, maintenance practices, and decision-making in high-stress environments.
The event featured customer testimonials, which highlighted best practices and field experiences from Nepali operators.
The symposium concluded with a forward-looking session on product safety improvements, outlining Airbus Helicopters’ roadmap to enhance reliability and maintenance in the coming years.
