A Journey from Vision to Reality
By the Book highlights Buddha Air’s growth. It started in 1997 with just four team members. Today, it is Nepal’s leading private airline. The book shares how the company expanded from a small dream to a major airline. It now employs over 1,500 people and flies to 43 destinations.
Basnet writes about the challenges and decisions that shaped Buddha Air. He focuses on the importance of discipline, hard work, and honesty. These values helped the airline grow steadily for 28 years.
Launch Ceremony at Pulchowk
The book was officially launched during a formal event. Himalayan Bank CEO Ashok Shamsher Jabara and his wife Sunita Basnet were present. Former chief administrator of the Employees Provident Fund, Sansarbhakta Shrestha, also took part in the launch.
Basnet received the book from his mother, Asharani Basnet. This moment added a personal and emotional touch to the ceremony.
A Message for Future Leaders
Basnet said the book aims to inspire. He wants to encourage young entrepreneurs and students of management. According to him, By the Book is more than a biography. It is a guide to leadership, discipline, and smart decision-making.
“The main goal is management,” Basnet said. “This book is for those who dream big and want to work hard to reach their goals.”
28 Years of Steady Progress
The book outlines key moments in Buddha Air’s history. From its first flights to building a reliable fleet, each step shows careful planning and discipline. The company now operates 18 aircraft—two ATR 42s and sixteen ATR 72s.
Basnet connects the airline’s success to long-term thinking and clear values. He says staying consistent is more important than fast growth. The book reflects his belief in gradual progress and honest work.
