Birendra Pandey Elected As CNI President: Nepal Industry Leadership And Economic Growth

Birendra Raj Pandey has been elected as the President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI). The chamber’s 22nd Annual General Meeting selected Pandey as its president. Previously, Pandey served as the Senior Vice President and was automatically appointed president according to the chamber’s constitution.

Pandey has worked for over a decade as a member of the chamber’s National Council and served on various committees. He became the chamber’s Vice President in 2018 (2075 BS).
Born in Kathmandu, Pandey has been continuously involved in the construction industry for three decades. He holds expertise in civil engineering, housing and urban development, road and bridge construction, water resource management, and structural strengthening. Pandey is the Executive Director of Nepal Adarsha Nirman Company. He is also active in green materials construction, agriculture, and education sectors.
Outgoing chamber President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal administered the oath to the newly elected President Birendra Raj Pandey and handed over the responsibility.
During the annual general meeting held in the capital on Wednesday, the following members were elected to the chamber’s National Council: Gopal Kumar Agrawal, Milan Babu Mall, Parasi Agrawal, Rahul Kumar Agrawal, Varun Kumar Todi, Deepak Kumar Agrawal, Rohit Gupta, Hitesh Golchha, Amit Mor, Ashrayata Karki, Nirvana Kumar Chaudhary, Akash Golchha, Vikas Dugad, Bikram Singhania, Amit Kumar Begani, Gaurav Sharda, Dilip Agrawal, Yash Agrawal, Sandeep Sharda, Rajeev Gupta. Likewise, Sanjiv Nyaupane, Hem Raj Dhakal, Anurag Goyal, Dhruba Rizal, Sanjay Golchha, Varsha Shrestha, Raj Bahadur Shah, Vidushi Rana, Laxmi Prasad Suvedi, Ashish Jajodia, Pampha Dhamala, Manish Kumar Khemka, Ashish Garg, and Seva Pathak were elected. Gokul Bhandari, Basant Bahadur Chand, and Chandra Tandan were also elected.
Additionally, from the provinces, outgoing President Bhim Ghimire from Koshi Province, Pramod Sah from Madhesh Province, Lekhraj Pokhrel from Bagmati Province, Vinod Nyaupane from Gandaki Province, Ejaz Alam from Lumbini Province, Chhatra Shahi from Karnali Province, and Raman Chandra Shrestha from Sudurpaschim Province were elected as National Council members.
Similarly, Badrinath Sharma (Chairman of Makawanpur Industry Association), Madan Ghimire (Acting Chairman of Chitwan Industry Association), KB Rana (Chairman of Nawalpur Industry Association), Dilip Sapkota (Chairman of Rupandehi Industry Association), and Rudra Shrestha from Pokhara Industrial Area Industry Association were appointed ex-officio National Council members.
From the elected National Council members, seven were unanimously selected as Vice Presidents. Nirvana Chaudhary was selected as Senior Vice President. The other Vice Presidents elected unanimously were Raj Bahadur Shah, Hem Raj Dhakal, Rohit Gupta, Amit Mor, Bhim Ghimire, and Gokul Bhandari. Additionally, Sandeep Sharda, Vidushi Rana, and Prachi Agrawal were nominated as permanent invited members of the chamber. Newly elected President Birendra Raj Pandey administered the oath to the Vice Presidents and National Council members.
Upon assuming office, President Pandey pledged to institutionalize the achievements gained by the chamber and to actively work towards taking it to new heights. He congratulated outgoing President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal for a successful tenure.
Earlier, at the inauguration ceremony of the general meeting held on Tuesday, Shatis Kumar Mor, former president of the chamber and a distinguished industrialist, was honored with the CNI President Award.
On this occasion, the chamber also presented awards to institutions and companies contributing to exports. Under SAFTA, RMC Foods Pvt. Ltd., Ganpati Plants Limited, and Narayani Well Refinery Industry Pvt. Ltd. were honored for their contribution to exports. For exports to third countries, Nepal Express Parcel and Logistic Pvt. Ltd., Assent Exports Pvt. Ltd., and Smooth Cargo Movers Pvt. Ltd. were recognized. Under INDO Nepal, Aarti Strips Pvt. Ltd., Reliance Spinning Mills Limited, and Shivam Plastic Industries Limited were awarded for export contributions.
Gopal Agrawal received the Most Active National Council Member Award. The Information Technology Council received the Most Active Committee Award. Bagmati Industry Association was awarded as the Most Active Provincial Chamber. Director Himal Paudel received the Best Employee Award.
The Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, presented the awards to the honored individuals and organizations.
