Birgunj Chamber of Commerce Election: Hari Gautam President, BCCI 49th AGM Results

The Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI) has completed its 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and convention, with key leadership positions filled for the upcoming term.

During this meeting, Hari Gautam was elected unopposed as the President of the chamber, marking a seamless transition in leadership.
Along with Gautam, several other positions were filled by unanimous votes. Madhav Rajpal was appointed Senior Vice President, while Manoj Das will serve as Second Vice President. Shivji Prasad Kalwar was elected as General Secretary, and Anoj Rungta as the Treasurer. Additionally, Premchandra Goyal and Sushant Chachan were chosen as Secretaries, and Niraj Agarwal was appointed Assistant Treasurer. Naresh Tiwadewal secured the position of Assistant Secretary through a unanimous decision.
The only contested position was that of Assistant Secretary, for which Anup Agarwal was elected. The election process followed the chamber’s constitution, which stipulates that 12 officebearers should be elected.
The newly appointed leadership is expected to continue driving the Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries toward achieving its mission of supporting and developing the business community in the region. Over the years, the chamber has played a critical role in representing the interests of local businesses, advocating for trade growth, and improving the economic environment of Birgunj and its neighboring areas.
According to Bal Mukund Kharel, the Chief Election Officer, the chamber members showed a broad consensus for most of the positions, except the Assistant Secretary role, which went to an election. This indicates strong trust and cohesion among the chamber’s members.
The chamber’s work is essential to fostering trade and commerce, and the new leadership will continue to focus on vital issues such as infrastructure development, access to finance, and creating a supportive environment for entrepreneurs. Their leadership will ensure that Birgunj remains a vibrant and growing economic hub for businesses.
In line with its constitutional framework, the Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries will maintain its structure of 12 office bearers. The chamber will now focus on fulfilling its key objectives, which include boosting the regional economy, supporting local businesses, and creating better opportunities for industrial growth.
