The British Education Group, which owns The British College (Kathmandu, Nepal), has now acquired the Maritime Business College (MBC), one of the oldest private institutes in Nova Scotia, Canada.

British Education Group Acquires Maritime Business College

Founded in 1899, MBC has a rich history of providing advanced career training. Over 125 years, the Halifax-based institution has built a strong reputation for educational excellence and adaptability in the evolving job market. The college is also fully accredited by the local Ministry of Education as a Designated Learning Institution (DLI), making it one of the few private colleges in Canada authorized to recruit international students.

They currently offer a diverse range of programmes, including Business Administration, Veterinary Assistance, Medical Device Reprocessing, Interior Decorating, and 2D-3D Animation & Digital Arts. As a result of this new partnership, The British Education Group now plans to introduce additional courses that are offered at its London campus, The Woolwich College.

When speaking of this exciting development, Rajen Kandel, Group CEO of the British Education Group, said, “We are committed to providing our students with global opportunities and experiences. This acquisition will facilitate seamless credit transfers between our campuses in Nepal, Dubai, and Canada, further promoting our vision of creating global citizens.” Kandel also thanked all the parties involved in the acquisition process that lasted over six months and especially showed his appreciation towards the Canada-based Nepalese community for their continued support and guidance.

The group, which owns several educational institutions in Nepal, Dubai, and London, is dedicated to enhancing global exposure for its students and staff. So, this strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone for both the British Education Group and Maritime Business College, promising a future of continued educational excellence and global integration.
