On the 29th of April, Mr. Andy Morrison shared his experience of working in Nepal with the students.
Andy talked about his own experience with computers and pictures of different types of machines he had used right from his school days. It was fascinating to hear him talk about “comptometer.”
He also talked about his work in the Panchamul valley, Syangja – making IT accessible by the setting of internet connections and computer labs in public schools. He highly appreciated the effort put in by DWIT graduates, who were currently in Syngja on a Teaching Fellowship Program. The DWIT graduates are presently busy working both with teachers and students of these village public schools on teaching them more about hardware and software.

Andy Morrison is based in the UK and runs an IT business under the name and, see www.andisa.net. He first came time to Nepal in February 2011 after meeting a fellow Nepali in the UK. He was requested to help make computers/internet access to different schools of Syngja. He piloted with a project in Rithepani in Kaski and the second one in Panchamul Valley in Syangja District. Since then Andy has visited Nepal 6 times to date.
