The President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, emphasized that Nepal holds vast investment potential, which needs to be transformed into tangible opportunities.

Speaking at the 72nd Anniversary of the Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rupandehi, President Dhakal highlighted the need to break the misconception that Nepal lacks resources. He stated that Nepal is rich in natural resources, and if effectively capitalized, investment in these resources can foster entrepreneurship and generate employment opportunities.
Policy Stability and Promotion of Domestic Investment
President Dhakal stressed that policy stability and encouraging domestic investment are crucial for the country’s economic prosperity. He stated, “Only through policy stability can we create a favorable investment climate, increase production, and generate employment.”
FNCCI’s Initiatives
He also shared that FNCCI has amended its constitution based on the demands of district and municipal chambers, enabling greater participation in the federation from the grassroots level.

Established in 2010 B.S. (1953 A.D.), the Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry is one of the leading institutions in western Nepal. President Dhakal praised the chamber for its contribution to protecting business interests, promoting entrepreneurship, and playing a vital role in the development of education, healthcare, and infrastructure in the region.

President Dhakal emphasized that Rupandehi is one of Nepal’s most fertile regions for agriculture, tourism, industry, and trade. He pointed out that several major infrastructure developments have further strengthened the district’s investment potential, including:

Butwal International Conference Center
Customs Facilities and Other Infrastructure
These projects position Rupandehi as a promising hub for trade and investment in Nepal.
The Journey of the Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry
During the event, Hari Prasad Aryal, President of the Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, recalled that the chamber was formally established in 2010 B.S. after the formation of an ad-hoc committee in 2009 B.S. He emphasized the chamber’s continued role in economic, social, and physical development in the region.
