CAN Federation Dhanusha Launches Free Digital Literacy Program

In a decisive step toward digital inclusion, the Computer Association of Nepal Federation, Dhanusha (CAN Federation Dhanusha Branch) has launched a free three-month computer training program for marginalized communities.

The initiative is designed to benefit poor, Dalit, disabled, minority, and underprivileged students by providing them with essential digital skills necessary in today’s technology-driven society. At a press conference held in Janakpurdham on Friday, CAN Federation Dhanusha Branch President Binay Sah announced that the first phase of the program will select 51 participants for free training. The training will be conducted across 15 computer institutes in Dhanusha, ensuring that quality digital education is accessible to those who need it most.

Key Program Details:

Duration: Three months

Target Audience: Poor, Dalit, disabled, minority, and underprivileged students

Participants: 51 selected trainees in the first phase

Training Institutes: 15 computer institutes in Dhanusha

Registration Period: From Falgun 2 to Falgun 18

Application Process: Applicants can choose up to five institutes; the final selection will be made by the CAN Federation Dhanusha Branch.

Registration Fee: Free, with an online application option available

The program is a critical move toward generating skilled manpower in the field of information technology. “By focusing on the digital education of marginalized groups, we are not only bridging the digital divide but also enhancing the employability and community development of these students,” said President Binay Sah during the briefing. Key officials, including Promod Pandit, coordinator of the Computer Institute Management Committee, and CAN Federation Dhanusha Branch Secretary Bimalesh Jha, were also present at the press conference, highlighting the collaborative effort behind this initiative . Prospective students are urged to complete the free application form, available online and in person, during the designated registration period. Applicants have the flexibility to select up to five institutes, with the final placements determined by the CAN Federation Dhanusha Branch based on the submissions received. This initiative marks a significant effort to empower marginalized communities by equipping them with modern digital skills, fostering community development, and promoting equal opportunities in the digital era.
