CAN Federation & Lumbini Technological University MoU: Advancing Nepal’s ICT Education & Industry Linkage

In a significant step towards strengthening Nepal’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) landscape, CAN Federation, the national non-profit organization representing Nepal’s ICT sector, and Lumbini Technological University (LTU), a public technological university based in Nepalgunj, Banke, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in advancing ICT education, research, and industry engagement.

The MoU was signed with the shared vision of fostering innovation, promoting skill development, and building strong industry-academia linkages in Nepal. The partnership aims to align academic efforts with the needs of the rapidly evolving ICT sector, ultimately contributing to Nepal’s digital transformation.

Policy advocacy in the ICT sector

Sunaina Ghimire Pandey, President of CAN Federation, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership with LTU is an important milestone toward nurturing ICT talent at the grassroots level and creating a robust innovation ecosystem in Nepal.”

This alliance underscores the shared commitment of both institutions to bridge the gap between academic institutions and the ICT industry, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped with the skills and experiences needed to succeed in the digital economy.

Chiranjibi Adhikari, Senior Vice President of CAN Federation, expressed that the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aligns with the President’s vision of fostering strong collaboration between academia and industry. He emphasized that the initiative aims to bridge the existing gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application by introducing real industry experiences to students and educational institutions. Adhikari highlighted the MoU as a significant milestone in enhancing academic relevance and preparing future professionals to meet industry demands through meaningful partnerships.
