This initiative marks a significant step towards equipping young learners with essential knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world safely.
As part of this collaboration, ChildSafeNet has successfully conducted a three-day Train-the-Trainer workshop for facilitators in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. The training workshop equipped the participants with the knowledge and skills to conduct impactful cyber safety training and awareness sessions. Additionally, both organizations have co-developed customized Cyber Safety Awareness Materials tailored to the specific needs of Malaysian students.
A key highlight of this initiative is the upcoming publication of a handbook on child online protection, which will be available in Malay and Tamil languages. The handbook is set to be distributed to 80,000 students across Malaysia and will serve as a vital resource for educating students, parents, and educators on navigating the digital world safely.
“The safety of children in the digital space is a shared responsibility. Our collaboration with ChildSafeNet reflects our commitment to equipping school children with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves online. This partnership is an important milestone, and we look forward to expanding our efforts beyond Malaysia to other Asian countries,” said Dr. Kavitha, Managing Director of Technism.
Objectives of the Collaboration
Empowering students with the knowledge to recognize and respond to cyber threats such as cyberbullying, online predators, and digital scams.
Building digital resilience among children by developing their critical thinking skills to stay safe online.
Supporting educators and parents by providing resources and training to guide children in their digital journey.
Creating a safer online environment by fostering a culture of responsible internet use among young users.
Anil Raghuvanshi, Founder and President of ChildSafeNet, said, “The collaboration between ChildSafeNet and Technism will help to protect children in Malaysia from tech-facilitated online harms, including online sexual abuse, cyberbullying, hate speech, mis and disinformation, and exposure to mature content.”
By combining expertise and resources, Technism and ChildSafeNet are setting a benchmark in cyber safety education, ensuring that children are well-prepared for the challenges of the digital world. This initiative reflects both organizations’ dedication to child protection, education, and digital literacy.
