The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has issued a warning to the public about a rising number of cyberattacks targeting bank customers. Fraudsters are using deceptive tactics to steal people’s money.

These criminals often pose as bank employees and call people, pretending to be from the bank. They try to trick people into sharing sensitive information like account numbers, passwords, and one-time passwords (OTPs).

The CIB warns people not to share personal information with strangers who call them. Report suspicious calls to your bank or the police.

SP Hobindra Bogati of the Bureau stated that providing details for ‘account renewal and update’ could be risky as hackers and fraudsters might use this opportunity to transfer funds.
