Citizens Bank Nepal CSR: Beni Shelter, Pokhara Tree Plantation, Environment Day 2025

Under its Corporate Social Responsibility, the bank’s Beni branch constructed a passenger waiting shelter in Jamunakhark, Ward No. 6 of Beni Municipality, Gandaki Province.

The shelter, built at a cost of around NPR 50,000, was handed over to Ward Chairperson Krishnasingh Baniya. Embracing the motto “Beat the Plastic,” Citizens Bank organized a large-scale tree plantation program on Tuesday, Jestha 27, 2082 BS (June 10, 2025) at the Forest Science Study Institute, Pokhara Campus, Hekhakharka, Pokhara, aiming to reduce the growing impact of climate change through the protection and promotion of trees and plants. On World Environment Day 2025, the extensive tree plantation program took place in Ward No. 15 of Pokhara, Kaski, where more than 100 different species of plants were planted.
Recently, the bank was awarded the prestigious “Bank of the Year 2024” title. In collaboration with FonePay, it launched Nepal’s first “Citizens FonePay Credit Card” (a virtual credit card). Additionally, services such as share application and CRN number issuance are now available through the mobile banking app.
The bank also introduced a cross-bank teller facility, enabling customers of other banks to withdraw cash by scanning the teller QR code at Citizens Bank branches. Citizens Bank International Limited operates 200 branches, 168 ATMs, 3 extension counters, and 74 branchless banking units across 61 districts nationwide, providing modern banking services to over 1.89 million customers.
