Citizens Bank CSR: Karnali & Lumbini Green Initiatives

Embracing the core theme of “Beat the Plastic” and aiming to mitigate the effects of increasing climate change by preserving and promoting trees and plants, Citizens Bank successfully conducted a grand tree plantation program on Wednesday, Jestha 28, 2082 (June 11, 2025), under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The event was held in two locations: the Forest Garden in Tilottama Municipality, Lumbini Province, and the Bhairam Community Forest in Birendranagar, Karnali Province.
On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, the bank planted around 105 different species of saplings in Lumbini Province and over 100 saplings in Karnali Province.
Previously, as part of its CSR efforts, the bank has also organized health camps in various parts of the country and provided support to community schools and religious sites such as temples and monasteries.
Recently, Citizens Bank was honored with the prestigious global title “Bank of the Year 2024.” In collaboration with Fonepay, the bank also launched Nepal’s first-ever “Citizens Fonepay Credit Card” (a virtual credit card). Additionally, the bank has introduced services such as share application and CRN number requests through its mobile banking app, along with a cross-bank teller service that allows customers of other banks to withdraw cash by scanning a teller QR at Citizens Bank branches.
