25th June 2025, Kathmandu
Citizens Bank International Ltd. has issued a formal notice to all Demat (beneficiary) account holders. The bank reminded them to clear their annual maintenance fees for the fiscal year 2081/82 by the end of Ashadh 2082 (mid-July 2025).
Citizens Bank Demat Account Fee
Each account holder is required to pay NPR 100 as an annual fee to keep their Demat account active.
Payment Methods And Convenience
Account holders who have not paid the fee are requested to visit any branch of Citizens Bank for payment. To offer greater convenience, the bank has enabled online payments through the Mero Share platform. Beneficiaries can log in to their profile and use multiple electronic payment options to settle the fees.
The bank encouraged all users to take advantage of these digital channels for faster and simpler payment processing.
Consequences Of Non-Payment
Citizens Bank issued a clear warning to those who fail to pay the fee by the deadline. Such Demat accounts will be temporarily suspended until the outstanding fees are cleared. Account holders will lose access to transaction services during this suspension period.
The bank emphasized that the suspension will remain in place until payment is made. It will prevent beneficiaries from trading or performing any Demat account functions.
Annual Fee For Mero Share Users
The notice also addressed users of the Mero Share online service. These users must pay an additional annual fee of NPR 50. Citizens Bank urged these users to pay before their access to the platform is disrupted.
The bank clarified that it will not be responsible for any inconvenience resulting from unpaid fees, whether for Demat accounts or Mero Share services.
Support For New Investors: ASBA Facility
Citizens Bank reminded the public about the availability of Application Supported by Blocked Amount (ASBA) services at all its branches. This service helps investors apply for shares smoothly by blocking the required funds in their bank accounts during the application process.
For investors without Demat accounts, the bank offers an easy process to open new accounts at any branch. This facility aims to encourage wider participation in the capital market.
Branch Information And Further Details
To assist customers, the bank has provided a full list of branches and services on its official website: www.ctznbank.com. The bank advised customers to visit the site for more detailed information.
Commitment To Service And Market Development
This notice reflects Citizens Bank’s ongoing efforts to maintain financial discipline and encourage timely fee payments. The bank also promotes the use of digital payment systems to make the process efficient and transparent.
By ensuring that Demat accounts remain active and accessible, Citizens Bank supports the growth and stability of Nepal’s securities market. The bank remains committed to providing excellent service to all investors and stakeholders in the financial ecosystem.
