Both stations are conveniently located within the bank’s own premises, signaling a strong commitment to eco-friendly initiatives.
In a collaborative effort with Gadi Charge Pvt. Ltd., the bank has installed CCS2 Single Gun chargers with a robust 40 kW capacity. These modern charging solutions are set to offer fast, safe, and convenient services to the general public, existing customers, and all EV users.
During the inauguration event held today, CEO Ganesh Raj Pokharel emphasized that this initiative is a cornerstone of the bank’s strategic vision for environmental conservation.
He also revealed ambitious plans to expand this network, with similar EV charging stations slated for installation at Citizens Bank’s own premises across all seven provinces in the near future.
This move by Citizens Bank is expected to significantly contribute to Nepal’s sustainable energy use and pollution reduction. Beyond EV infrastructure, the bank has demonstrated its environmental commitment by planting over 1,800 trees across all provinces, actively working to mitigate the effects of climate change.
Citizens Bank, recently honored with the prestigious “Bank of the Year 2024” award, has a history of pioneering innovations in the Nepali banking sector. Notably, it partnered with PhonePe to introduce Nepal’s first virtual credit card, the “Citizens PhonePe Credit Card.”
